GOODWOOD RACECOURSE 2-00 Race Date 30/07/16 | Horse Racing

GOODWOOD RACECOURSE FORM

Fast Track

Fast Track (GB) is a 5yo from the David Barron stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

With ailing form and a below average Jadwiz rating is there anything on which to recommended a bet is in order for Fast Track (GB). Maybe today’s weight may help after all it did run a nice race when finishing 1st on the 03/08/2013 but that performance gives the impression of being inferior to what is required.

If we apply a weight range to the 09-04 this runner is set to carry, example a few pounds either way, we can check the sires recent record with its offspring which shows an unproductive 4% strike rate.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Charles Molson

Charles Molson (GB) Gelding who for this race has Hector Crouch on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Firm

Weight can play its part much the same as other factors and having a horse with the right weight makes the form worthy, this is what we have with this runner a splendid performance on the Flat when it carried 09-09 to finish 1st. Some may say that the form is not as new as others in the race but it does show it is adept at carrying this sort of weight.

So is a 5yo out of the sire by the name Monsieur Bond (IRE) and this piece of information looks valuable because over the last twelve months the offspring have enjoyed a 15% strike rate.

A accomplished competitor for an event like this and also one who appears to have a chance, not top rated but then again not to far away and when you through in its splendid form it all adds up to a worthy participant.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Stellarta

Stellarta (GB) is a 5yo from the Michael Blanshard stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

For this runner I think its best to look at its results for the last twelve month to try and make a case for backing it. Finished 1st in a race that took place on the 23/03/2016 which was a Handicap race, but with that said the form still looks below average.

This runner is a 5yo and there is nothing unusual in that except when David Probert has been the jockey, recent stats show a substandard strike rate, so may not be a great choice.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

El Viento

El Viento (FR) is a 8yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

This is a Flat race and although it has run in these type of races in the past and even managed to be placed 1st at Chester (Gb) on the 31/08/2013 its overall form is more what you would call guideline.

On the cards here is a Flat race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 10%.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Hoof It

Hoof It (GB) is a 9yo from the Michael Easterby stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Intermediate form over the last twelve months is how things appear to be for Hoof It (GB) who is a 9yo out of the sire by the name Monsieur Bond (IRE), or this is how things look when taking par in Handicap races. Did put in a tolerable run at Doncaster (Gb) on the 11/09/2015 when ridden by Graham Gibbons but the word average does spring to mind.

Looking at the race type and here we see it’s a Flat and with only average or suitable recent stats for today’s jockey in this type of event it appears to have moderate claims here.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Ballymore Castle

Ballymore Castle (IRE) is a 4yo from the Richard Fahey stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 1st at Chester (Gb) on the 08/05/2014 and this could very well be a factor here.

Looks a first class choice to take the winners prize back to Richard Fahey having proved itself highly capable of taking in a race like this and would expect an admirable display.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Grandad’s World

Grandad’s World (IRE) is a 4yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Headgear is used in an attempt to get the most from a runner and can sometimes have desired affect as was the case when Grandad’s World (IRE) ran at Pontefract (Gb), finished 1st on that occasion and is not the most recent of form and looks to have far more to do here today.

Overall form for this runner looks to be insufficient and substandard for a race like this and the best I feel it could do would be to possible be reach a place but its odds would need to be at least double figures.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Classic Seniority

Classic Seniority (GB) is a 4yo from the Marjorie Fife stable who has some praiseworthy form on which to recommend for this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Some horses are natural born racers while others need a bit of persuading to bring out the best in them and this often comes in the form some type of headgear and if we look back to a race that took place on 20/12/2014 we see it finished 1st with a No Headgear, same as today.

Classic Seniority (GB) is a 4yo and this age of runner has seen some very good recent results and currently the strike rate stands at around at 20%.

With some efficient and praiseworthy form to its name this would most likely be included in most short lists and who would I be to argue and I’m sure Marjorie Fife with have this one fit and ready to be battle.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Soie D’Leau

Soie D’Leau (GB) is a 4yo from the Kristin Stubbs stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Has form in Handicap races which while not first rate they could be described as satisfactory which suggests that maybe a place is the most likely results for Soie D’Leau (GB).

On the cards here is a Flat race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 9%.

This runner could very well have what is known as bog standard form and winners tend to be a shade better thought of than that but its by no means totally out of it but would appear to need a bit of luck to win here today.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Projection

Projection (GB) is a 3yo from the Roger Charlton stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

This runner would appear to be one of the top selections for this race based on a race it ran in at Salisbury (Gb) on the 30/09/2015 when ridden by Ryan Moore, finished 1st in that event and with the same piece of headgear on again today looks to be an added bonus.

So on to the race type which is a Flat and if the trainer has a good recent record in these types of races it would mean we have a nice selection. The stats show that Roger Charlton has been recently hitting at strike rate of 26% in these type of events so looks as if we have found an excellent runner with both good form and stats.

One of the main candidates in this event and appears to have what would be called a first rate chance based on the Jadwiz rating and other factors.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Muir Lodge

Muir Lodge (GB) is a 5yo from the George Baker stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Another runner who’s form does not seem to be good enough for this race and the only good news would be its finishing position in a race that took place at Newmarket (July) (Gb when it carried 09-12 to finish 1st. This is a similar sort of weight that it is set to carry today so could possible run a nice race.

George Baker record in Handicap races recently can be described as ailing with a low strike rate of only 4% being recorded.

The expression dime-a-dozen sprung to mind when going through the form for this runner and with a low rating this runner appears inferior.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Secret Missile

Secret Missile (GB) is a 6yo from the Gary Moore stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Overall form shows that Secret Missile (GB) who is a 6yo has run in Flat races before and has finished well but this form looks substandard and is not the most up to date and may be best to give this one the swerve.

Today’s trainer is Gary Moore and while may be capable of producing good winners the sire stats show that when training the offspring for this sire the overall results are below par with a strike rate of only 6%.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Related

Related (GB) is a 6yo from the Paul Midgley stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

The time of year can help some horses in that they can perform well some months but not so well in others and judging this one on its display in a race at Goodwood (Gb) during this month its overall form might be considered to be modest.

So lets have a look at some recent sire stats and in this case it’s for today’s race distance of 6f which show a bog standard 8% strike rate.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Extrasolar

Extrasolar (GB) is a 6yo from the Amanda Perrett stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Extrasolar (GB) did have a good result when carrying 09-12 and finishing 1st on the 15/07/2014 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

We know that Extrasolar (GB) is a 6yo but how well is the trainer currently doing with this age of runner? Average would be the word as the recent strike rate is only in the region of 11%.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Fairway To Heaven

Fairway To Heaven (IRE) is a 7yo from the Michael Wigham stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Overall form for Fairway To Heaven (IRE) is generally unproductive and inferior to others in this race and while it has some reasonable results over this distance namely when finishing 1st on the 28/06/2014 it would be seen as more of a each way or long shot.

This runners overall form looks to be below par for a race like this but it could possible be worth an each way provided that it had longish odds.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Barnet Fair

Barnet Fair (GB) is a 8yo from the David Nicholls stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

Sometimes a runner can seem to be head and shoulders above others in a race and this would be one of them based on its outings to date, one of these that proves the point would be when it raced at Ascot (Gb) and came in 1st in a Handicap and this looked a notable event.

Moving onto the recent trainer stats and these look excellent for today’s race distance of 6f and with a sterling strike rate of 21% this runner looks top-notch.

With some notable form to its name Barnet Fair (GB) looks to be the one to be on for this 6f event and I can see no reason as to why this would not have a excellent chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Seeking Magic

Seeking Magic (GB) is a 8yo from the Clive Cox stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

I looked through all this ones form to find something which could make it stand out and while there was a Handicap race it took part in at Leicester (Gb) on the 27/04/2013 its performance that day only appeared to be moderate or standard.

We know that Seeking Magic (GB) is a 8yo but how well is the trainer currently doing with this age of runner? Average would be the word as the recent strike rate is only in the region of 12%.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Lightning Charlie

Lightning Charlie (GB) is a 4yo from the Amanda Perrett stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Another runner who’s form does not seem to be good enough for this race and the only good news would be its finishing position in a race that took place at Lingfield (A.W) (Gb) when it carried 09-02 to finish 1st. This is a similar sort of weight that it is set to carry today so could possible run a nice race.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Handsome Dude

Handsome Dude (GB) is a 4yo from the David Barron stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

This is a Flat race and although it has run in these type of races in the past and even managed to be placed 1st at York (Gb) on the 10/10/2014 its overall form is more what you would call guideline.

On the cards here is a Flat race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 11%.

This runner could very well have what is known as bog standard form and winners tend to be a shade better thought of than that but its by no means totally out of it but would appear to need a bit of luck to win here today.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Gamesome

Gamesome (FR) is a 5yo from the Paul Midgley stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

This is a Flat race and although it has run in these type of races in the past and even managed to be placed 1st at Nottingham (Gb) on the 16/08/2013 its overall form is more what you would call guideline.

Looking at the race type and here we see it’s a Flat and with only average or suitable recent stats for today’s jockey in this type of event it appears to have moderate claims here.

Moving onto the conclusion for this runner and with only what could be described as acceptable or tolerable form this one can just be given an average chance here for this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Misterioso

Misterioso (IRE) is a 4yo from the Jamie Osborne stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Has form in Handicap races which while not first rate they could be described as satisfactory which suggests that maybe a place is the most likely results for Misterioso (IRE).

Think we will look at jockey stats this time for this Handicap race and in doing so we find that at 14% the strike rate for the last twelve month is not great but more average.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Mukaynis

Mukaynis (IRE) Gelding who for this race has Tom Eaves on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Firm

Some horses are natural born racers while others need a bit of persuading to bring out the best in them and this often comes in the form some type of headgear and if we look back to a race that took place on 16/05/2015 we see it finished 1st with a No Headgear, same as today.

Tom Eaves when recently ridding for Kevin Ryan has seen some good results which can be classed as commendable to make this runner a good choice for any short list.

Capable of putting in a superior run here and while this one is not at the very top it does have some praiseworthy form to its name which means it would at least be worthy candidate for a short list.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Dougan

Dougan (GB) is a 4yo from the David Evans stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

Exemplary Handicap form is what I feel this one can offer which will compliment a race of this nature and also enhance its chance of taking the winners prize back to David Evans training yard. While its race at Lingfield (A.W) (Gb) on the 31/12/2015 is not the most recent it does prove it can be taken seriously.

A runner out of the top draw here and one that looks to be in tiptop shape and ready to produce an exemplary display here at Goodwood.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Shamshon

Shamshon (IRE) Gelding who for this race has Jamie Spencer on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Firm

Some horses are natural born racers while others need a bit of persuading to bring out the best in them and this often comes in the form some type of headgear and if we look back to a race that took place on 15/05/2014 we see it finished 1st with a No Headgear, same as today.

Shamshon (IRE) is a 5yo and this age of runner has seen some very good recent results and currently the strike rate stands at around at 19%.

This runner looks to have an above average chance in this event and with its superior and dexterous form Shamshon (IRE) looks to be one of the main competitors for this race.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Elysian Flyer

Elysian Flyer (IRE) is a 4yo from the Richard Hughes stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

So what chance does Elysian Flyer (IRE) on its overall form? Well ailing would be how its form could be described with only one small glimmer of light being its race at Salisbury (Gb) which while not recent it did manage to finish 1st in that class 2 event.

The overall form for Elysian Flyer (IRE) looks to be unproductive or insufficient for a race like this and there are plenty of other runners to choose from.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Iseemist

Iseemist (IRE) is a 5yo from the John Gallagher stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Another runner who’s form looks to be damaging is Iseemist (IRE) and the only thing to write home about would be it came 1st in a Flat race, not recently, but was within the last twelve months.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Cool Bahamian

Cool Bahamian (IRE) is a 5yo from the Eve Johnson Houghton stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Goodwood.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Pontefract (Gb) on the 01/07/2013 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Cool Bahamian (IRE) ratings look to be unexceptional.

On the cards here is a Flat race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 10%.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Sweeping Up

Sweeping Up (GB) is a 5yo from the Hughie Morrison stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

The race type is often overlooked when studying form but can be a tremendous help, after all we don’t want to be backing horses running in the wrong events. With Sweeping Up (GB) we see that there was a top-notch performance in a Flat race which took place at Sandown (Gb) and while this may not of been the most up to the minute form it does show outstanding ability which can be put to good use here at Newmarket today.

This looks a nice Flat race and one in which Sea The Stars (IRE), who is the sire has some exquisite recent stats. These stats show a first class strike rate of 23% when its offspring have run in Flat races.

One of the main candidates in this event and appears to have what would be called a first rate chance based on the Jadwiz rating and other factors.

Put in a bush-league type of performance when recently racing at Ripon (Gb) with the same piece of headgear which Wilderswood (IRE) is set to wear again for this event which does not look to good.

Ann Duffield record in Stakes races recently can be described as ailing with a low strike rate of only 4% being recorded.

Could not be classed has having a great chance of taking the winners prize back to the trainers stable and other better candidate can easily be found.

A Stakes where Jason Hart is given a leg up to get the job done and if stats are anything to go by looks possible due to their recent strike rate of 18% in this type of event.

After mixing in all the form lines for this runner the conclusion would be one who would reward an each way investment provided we can get the required odds.
