LINGFIELD RACECOURSE 1-55 Race Date 05/12/16 | Horse Racing

LINGFIELD RACECOURSE FORM

High Baroque

High Baroque is a 4yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

Overall form for High Baroque is generally unproductive and inferior to others in this race and while it has some reasonable results over this distance namely when finishing 1st on the 17/09/2015 it would be seen as more of a each way or long shot.

A substandard recent strike rate of only 4% for this trainers runners when competing over today’s distance looks to be off putting.

With some bush-league performances and a below par rating I don’t think this one should be on many short lists and would not think the winners prize will be going back to the Richard Fahey yard.

Marshgate Lane

Marshgate Lane is a 7yo from the Neil Mulholland stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

The one thing that the form book does show for Marshgate Lane is that with the right headgear, which it has today, it can sometimes run well. With that said I do feel that today will not be one of them as there are far to many other runners with better form lines.

The expression dime-a-dozen sprung to mind when going through the form for this runner and with a low rating this runner appears inferior.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Ocean Tempest

Ocean Tempest is a 7yo from the John Ryan stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

With ailing form and a below average Jadwiz rating is there anything on which to recommended a bet is in order for Ocean Tempest. Maybe today’s weight may help after all it did run a nice race when finishing 1st on the 30/04/2014 but that performance gives the impression of being inferior to what is required.

The record of this runners sire is discouraging with only a 6% strike rate at this time of the year and with some below par results like these it would be an idea to concentrate on others in the race.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose Ocean Tempest would be classed as having a below average chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Bluegrass Blues

Bluegrass Blues is a 6yo from the Heather Main stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Kempton on the 02/04/2013 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Bluegrass Blues ratings look to be unexceptional.

So here we are with Bluegrass Blues ready to take part in a Handicap race which may not be the best choice due to the fact that over the last year its current trainer has only hit the winners enclosure 12% of the time which is only a moderate success rate.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Jacbequick

Jacbequick is a 5yo from the David O’Meara stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

Intermediate form over the last twelve months is how things appear to be for Jacbequick who is a 5yo out of the sire by the name Calcutta, or this is how things look when taking par in Handicap races. Did put in a tolerable run at Beverley on the 18/07/2016 when ridden by Josh Doyle but the word average does spring to mind.

Stats can play there part in form studying and I have looked to find some suitable results in which to sum up this ones chances. The best one appears to be when Josh Doyle is ridding a runner carrying around this sort of weight the recent strike rate is only average or run of the mill.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Purple Rock

Purple Rock is a 4yo from the Michael Easterby stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

What makes this runners form admissible is the fact it got a good result recently when racing at Newcastle when claiming the 1st place prize. Had a similar type of weight that day which it is set to carry in this race which gives Purple Rock on form a modest chance.

This is a 4yo and if we move over to the stats area we find that the sires offspring when running as a 4yo have a satisfactory strike rate of 14%.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Beardwood

Beardwood is a 4yo who looks to have some fine form for this Handicap race and today is ridden by George Baker.

Some say recent form is paramount and for those of you that do then this could be one of the ones on your short list, it is talented and has commendable run in which it finished 1st at Lingfield not so long back over today’s distance.

Lingfield and Mark Johnston is it a good thing? Well the answer would yes based on the fact that it is a left handed course which stats show produced a 17% strike rate over the last year.

A accomplished competitor for an event like this and also one who appears to have a chance, not top rated but then again not to far away and when you through in its splendid form it all adds up to a worthy participant.

Van Huysen

Van Huysen is a 4yo from the Dominic Ffrench Davis stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

So for today’s event we have a Handicap race which is a bonus because this is the same as was encountered on the 11/10/2016 when racing at Leicester, on that day it put up what would be described as a sterling performance to grab 1st place.

This runner out of the Dominic Ffrench Davis stable has distinguished form which suggests that this would be one of the top contenders here today.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

In The Red

In The Red is a 3yo from the Richard Hannon stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

I looked through all this ones form to find something which could make it stand out and while there was a Handicap race it took part in at Goodwood on the 11/10/2015 its performance that day only appeared to be moderate or standard.

Allotted 08-10 here today and is that weight acceptable? Well taking into account the sires overall record I would say that with a 8% for that sort of weight range it could be classed as intermediate.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Island Flame

Island Flame is a 3yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

What form does Island Flame have? Well the best way of looking at this runner is to take into account its last twelve months of form and by doing this we can see there was a race on the 12/06/2016 when it finished 1st. On that day it was racing over 10f the same as today but it could be said that it was only a moderate type of an event.

A few stats can help when making a decision about a runners chance and with Island Flame we see it is out of the sire by the name Kodiac who’s offspring have a passable recent strike rate of 7% when running in Handicap races.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Alinstante

Alinstante is a 3yo from the Sir Mark Prescott Bt stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

Headgear is used in an attempt to get the most from a runner and can sometimes have desired affect as was the case when Alinstante ran at Great Leighs, finished 1st on that occasion and is not the most recent of form and looks to have far more to do here today.

What can the sire stats tell us about this runners chances here today in this Handicap race? Well in these type of event there is only a insufficient 6% strike rate, which does not sound to good.

The overall form for Alinstante looks to be unproductive or insufficient for a race like this and there are plenty of other runners to choose from.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Natural Scenery

Natural Scenery is a 3yo from the Saeed bin Suroor stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 10f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

This runner would appear to be one of the top selections for this race based on a race it ran in at Newmarket on the 17/06/2016 when ridden by James Doyle, finished 1st in that event and with the same piece of headgear on again today looks to be an added bonus.

One of the main candidates in this event and appears to have what would be called a first rate chance based on the Jadwiz rating and other factors.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Midnight Tour

Midnight Tour is a 6yo from the Alan King stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 15f race which taking part here at Ludlow.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Catterick on the 04/03/2015 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Midnight Tour ratings look to be unexceptional.

Twelve month stats show that when the offspring out of today’s sire race over 15f there has been a tolerable strike rate of 13%.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.
