TAUNTON RACECOURSE 3-20 Race Date 05/02/17 | Horse Racing

TAUNTON RACECOURSE FORM

Monte Wildhorn

Monte Wildhorn is a 9yo from the David Bridgwater stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 18f race which taking part here at Taunton.

I looked through all this ones form to find something which could make it stand out and while there was a Handicap race it took part in at Newton Abbot on the 12/06/2015 its performance that day only appeared to be moderate or standard.

On the cards here is a Chase race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 13%.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

The Geegeez Geegee

The Geegeez Geegee is a 8yo from the Anthony Honeyball stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 18f race which taking part here at Taunton.

With ailing form and a below average Jadwiz rating is there anything on which to recommended a bet is in order for The Geegeez Geegee. Maybe today’s weight may help after all it did run a nice race when finishing 1st on the 05/02/2015 but that performance gives the impression of being inferior to what is required.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose The Geegeez Geegee would be classed as having a below average chance.

In On The Act

In On The Act is a 7yo from the Evan Williams stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 18f race which taking part here at Taunton.

So what chance does In On The Act on its overall form? Well ailing would be how its form could be described with only one small glimmer of light being its race at Stratford which while not recent it did manage to finish 1st in that class 4 event.

Sometimes a trainers record can indicate things that are not always evident when looking or reading through the runners form and one of these is that Evan Williams has only successfully make the winners enclosure 5% of the time with a 7yo runner over the year, which is below average.

With some bush-league performances and a below par rating I don’t think this one should be on many short lists and would not think the winners prize will be going back to the Evan Williams yard.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Wade Harper

Wade Harper Gelding who for this race has Aidan Coleman on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Soft

Weight can play its part much the same as other factors and having a horse with the right weight makes the form worthy, this is what we have with this runner a splendid performance on the Hurdle when it carried 11-08 to finish 1st. Some may say that the form is not as new as others in the race but it does show it is adept at carrying this sort of weight.

Sire stats now and recent ones show a fine 17% strike rate when running in Chase event which us some above average form and stats.

After mixing in all the form lines for this runner the conclusion would be one who would reward an each way investment provided we can get the required odds.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Speredek

Speredek is a 6yo from the Nigel Hawke stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 18f race which taking part here at Taunton.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

This event is a Chase race and by quickly looking through the jockeys results we can get a better picture of things and in this case a strike rate of 10% is only moderate or satisfactory.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Contre Tous

Contre Tous is a 5yo from the Paul Nicholls stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 18f race which taking part here at Taunton.

This is a class 4 and if we forgive Contre Tous its run recent at Exeter, which incidentally was also the same class, we would have an exquisite and first rate choice.

Paul Nicholls running a 5yo recently has produced some outstanding stats which show a current strike rate of 26% which goes well with the runners form for this race.

The conclusion for this runner is that it could safely be added to any short list and could very well be the top selection to land the first prize here.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Seemorelights

Seemorelights is a 5yo from the Sandy Thomson stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 23f race which taking part here at Musselburgh.

Good recent form is what we are after in a race like this but with Seemorelights this does not look to be the case, in fact its form looks rather discouraging, only spark of light would be that it did fill the 1st spot when wearing the same piece of headgear.

Now for stats and these appear to be detrimental, at least when the sires offspring have been entered into Hurdle races, over the last twelve months it has only record an inferior strike rate of 4%.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.
