CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE 2-50 Race Date 14/03/17 | Horse Racing

CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE FORM

Antony

Antony is a 7yo from the Gary Moore stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

For this runner I think its best to look at its results for the last twelve month to try and make a case for backing it. Finished 1st in a race that took place on the 01/10/2016 which was a Handicap race, but with that said the form still looks below average.

Set to be ridden by Jamie Moore for the Gary Moore and is a 7yo which may be a problem because the jockeys 4% strike rate over the last twelve months when ridding a 7yo.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Coologue

Coologue is a 8yo from the Charlie Longsdon stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Bangor-On-Dee on the 22/12/2014 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Coologue ratings look to be unexceptional.

Brian Hughes and Handicap races are not the most sort after combinations and the main reason is that the overall strike rate is unexceptional at 14%, which is what I would call bog standard.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Vic De Touzaine

Vic De Touzaine is a 8yo from the Venetia Williams stable who has some praiseworthy form on which to recommend for this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This type of race looks as if suits Vic De Touzaine who is a 8yo and has run some splendid races on which to recommend it can be added to a short list including at Leicester in a Chase race, not the most current form but would described as commendable.

So lets move on a bit and look at the stats that this sire had recorded when its progeny have competed in Chase races. The upshot of the matter is a superior strike rate of 18% which goes well with this runners form.

This runner looks to have an above average chance in this event and with its superior and dexterous form Vic De Touzaine looks to be one of the main competitors for this race.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Singlefarmpayment

Singlefarmpayment is a 7yo from the Tom George stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes a runner can seem to be head and shoulders above others in a race and this would be one of them based on its outings to date, one of these that proves the point would be when it raced at Cheltenham and came in 1st in a Handicap and this looked a notable event.

This runner is a 7yo and recent results for today’s jockey show an impressive strike rate of 25% when in charge of runners of this age.

The conclusion for this runner is that it could safely be added to any short list and could very well be the top selection to land the first prize here.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Label Des Obeaux

Label Des Obeaux is a 6yo from the Alan King stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

Form for the runner is recent and also has the advantage that its run at Exeter was the same type of race which give us an exquisite start to our fact finding mission and see no reason why Wayne Hutchinson could keep this one out of a place.

This looks a nice Chase race and one in which Saddler Maker, who is the sire has some exquisite recent stats. These stats show a first class strike rate of 43% when its offspring have run in Chase races.

Would appear to have an outstanding chance is this race and form suggests a bet could very well be in order for this runner who looks first rate.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Pilgrims Bay

Pilgrims Bay is a 7yo from the Neil Mulholland stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

With this race being a Handicap we would be looking for good recent form in this type of race and on first glance we can see that Pilgrims Bay did finish 1st in such a race but that result may very well not count for much.

The jockey has some below average form at the moment in Handicap races which is off putting and is only hitting the target 4% of the time.

Overall form for this runner looks to be insufficient and substandard for a race like this and the best I feel it could do would be to possible be reach a place but its odds would need to be at least double figures.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Go Conquer

Go Conquer is a 8yo from the Jonjo O’Neill stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Carlisle on the 08/04/2014 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Go Conquer ratings look to be unexceptional.

On the cards here is a Chase race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 10%.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

The Young Master

The Young Master is a 8yo from the Neil Mulholland stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Worcester on the 26/09/2014 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but The Young Master ratings look to be unexceptional.

The Young Master has been allocated a weight of 11-07 which does not go well with the jockey who over the last twelve month has only recorded a 12% strike rate when ridding horses carrying around about this weight.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

The Druids Nephew

The Druids Nephew is a 10yo from the Neil Mulholland stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Moving onto the conclusion for this runner and with only what could be described as acceptable or tolerable form this one can just be given an average chance here for this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Holywell

Holywell is a 10yo from the Jonjo O’Neill stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This is a Chase race and although it has run in these type of races in the past and even managed to be placed 1st at Kelso on the 12/02/2015 its overall form is more what you would call guideline.

A few stats can help when making a decision about a runners chance and with Holywell we see it is out of the sire by the name Gold Well who’s offspring have a passable recent strike rate of 13% when running in Handicap races.

Moving onto the conclusion for this runner and with only what could be described as acceptable or tolerable form this one can just be given an average chance here for this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Theatre Guide

Theatre Guide Gelding who for this race has Paddy Brennan on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Soft

Weight can play its part much the same as other factors and having a horse with the right weight makes the form worthy, this is what we have with this runner a splendid performance on the Chase when it carried 11-09 to finish 1st. Some may say that the form is not as new as others in the race but it does show it is adept at carrying this sort of weight.

Punters like recent stats as it shows what is happing now and one of these shows that today’s trainer has a 17% strike rate when their runners have carried around today’s weight.

By no means the top rated here for this race but its not that far off and with the form shown so far could not really be left out of the reckoning here for this race at Cheltenham.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Buywise

Buywise is a 10yo from the Evan Williams stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

With ailing form and a below average Jadwiz rating is there anything on which to recommended a bet is in order for Buywise. Maybe today’s weight may help after all it did run a nice race when finishing 1st on the 10/02/2015 but that performance gives the impression of being inferior to what is required.

This is a Chase race and one where recent stats for this trainer have not been going to well, in fact they are considered to be insufficient with only a 4% strike rate being recorded.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Un Temps Pour Tout

Un Temps Pour Tout is a 8yo from the David Pipe stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

This is a Chase race and the sires record when its progeny have raced in these type of events over the last twelve months has been 10%.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Measureofmydreams

Measureofmydreams is a 9yo from the Noel Meade stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Another runner who’s form does not seem to be good enough for this race and the only good news would be its finishing position in a race that took place at Cheltenham when it carried 11-06 to finish 3rd. This is a similar sort of weight that it is set to carry today so could possible run a nice race.

Overall stats around this time of the year for Noel Meade are on the low side with only a substandard 6% strike rate being recorded.

The expression dime-a-dozen sprung to mind when going through the form for this runner and with a low rating this runner appears inferior.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Clarcam

This is a Chase race and the sires record when its progeny have raced in these type of events over the last twelve months has been 11%.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Ibis Du Rheu

Ibis Du Rheu Gelding who for this race has Sam Twiston-Davies on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Soft

One of the things that came to light when looking through the form for this runner was today’s weight of 11-03 which is very similar to the weight carried on the 18/03/2016 when finishing 1st and would look to have an above average chance for this event.

This is a Handicap race and looking at the trainer stats for these races show that recently Paul Nicholls has a praiseworthy strike rate of 18%.

After mixing in all the form lines for this runner the conclusion would be one who would reward an each way investment provided we can get the required odds.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Junction Fourteen

Junction Fourteen is a 8yo from the Emma Lavelle stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Kempton on the 26/12/2013 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Junction Fourteen ratings look to be unexceptional.

Progressing onto the trainer to gaze at how their recent form has been in Handicap races and it appears to be fair and while this may not be ideal it is satisfactory.

Has admissible but intermediate form and would only be of general interest if the odds are in our favour which would mean an each way bet might be on the cards.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

A Good Skin

A Good Skin is a 8yo from the Tom George stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This is a Chase race and although it has run in these type of races in the past and even managed to be placed 1st at Cheltenham on the 16/04/2015 its overall form is more what you would call guideline.

There is only some average recent form where jockey Richard Johnson is concerned in Handicap races and with a typical strike rate this runner goes down as having a basic chance.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Noble Endeavor

Noble Endeavor is a 8yo from the Gordon Elliott stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 2nd at Cheltenham on the 13/03/2015 and this could very well be a factor here.

We have had the form for this runner and now for an interesting stats about the weight that Noble Endeavor is set to carry, the trainers recent record when their runners have carried a similar weight has achieved a high strike rate of around 29%.

A runner out of the top draw here and one that looks to be in tiptop shape and ready to produce an exemplary display here at Cheltenham.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Caid Du Berlais

Caid Du Berlais is a 8yo from the Paul Nicholls stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Caid Du Berlais is one of the runners here that takes the eye with some outstanding performances to its name most notable of these I feel was when finishing 1st at Cheltenham in a class 1 event the same as today’s which gets us off to a admirable start with our form studying.

Chase race for both horse and jockey to contend with here and as far as Stan Sheppard is concerned there should be no problem due to their recent success rate of 40% in this type of event.

Looks to be one of the main contenders here in this race with admirable form lines to back up its rating would look to have a top-notch chance of taking this event and would be a worthy selection.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Henri Parry Morgan

Henri Parry Morgan is a 9yo from the Peter Bowen stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Henri Parry Morgan did have a good result when carrying 11-07 and finishing 1st on the 27/02/2016 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Annacotty

Annacotty is a 9yo from the Alan King stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Does not have one of the highest Jadwiz ratings in this race and would possible be seen as more of an each way chance based on form that was on display when running in a Handicap race on the 24/01/2015 when finishing 1st.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose Annacotty would be classed as having a below average chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Viconte Du Noyer

Viconte Du Noyer is a 8yo from the Colin Tizzard stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 25f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Another runner who’s form looks to be damaging is Viconte Du Noyer and the only thing to write home about would be it came 1st in a Chase race, not recently, but was within the last twelve months.

Colin Tizzard record in Handicap races recently can be described as ailing with a low strike rate of only 6% being recorded.

This runners overall form looks to be below par for a race like this but it could possible be worth an each way provided that it had longish odds.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Crosse Fire

Crosse Fire is a 5yo who looks to have some fine form for this Handicap race and today is ridden by Kieran O’Neill.

Different times of the year can often bring a change of form and in the case of Crosse Fire it looks as if this month could be the key, after all it was on the 10/03/2016 that it finished 1st at Southwell in what could be viewed as a splendid result.

Southwell is a left handed course so we need some good sire stats on these type of courses and we find that with Monsieur Bond we have just that a 18% strike rate.

This looks to be a good race and one in which Crosse Fire appears to hold a chance due to the talented form which has been shown in the past and could very well be worth a bet.
