CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE 4-10 Race Date 15/03/17 | Horse Racing

CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE FORM

Ballyboker Bridge

Ballyboker Bridge is a 10yo from the Peter Maher stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 3rd at Cheltenham on the 11/12/2015 and this could very well be a factor here.

At this time of the year we can usually expect some tiptop form to emerge from the Peter Maher stable, stats show that over time there has been a 33% strike rate.

A runner out of the top draw here and one that looks to be in tiptop shape and ready to produce an exemplary display here at Cheltenham.

Auvergnat

Auvergnat is a 7yo from the E Bolger stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 2nd at Market Rasen on the 17/10/2015 and this could very well be a factor here.

One of the things I noticed about this runner was that the sires offspring have shown a recent benefit from running with this type of headgear, stats are currently showing a 33% strike rate.

This runner out of the E Bolger stable has distinguished form which suggests that this would be one of the top contenders here today.

Quantitativeeasing

Quantitativeeasing is a 12yo from the E Bolger stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This is a Chase race and although it has run in these type of races in the past and even managed to be placed 2nd at Cheltenham on the 12/12/2014 its overall form is more what you would call guideline.

Fitting of headgear is normally done to help the runner try and get the job done but if the jockey such as Niall P Madden has only a recent strike rate of 10% when ridding horses wearing a type of head covering it does not inspire confidence, after all its only a standard sort of success rate.

This runner could very well have what is known as bog standard form and winners tend to be a shade better thought of than that but its by no means totally out of it but would appear to need a bit of luck to win here today.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Amazing Comedy

Amazing Comedy is a 7yo from the P Cottin stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

The use of different types of headgear can make a difference to a horses running and this would have been no doubt the case at when Amazing Comedy put in a meritorious display when applied with which is the same as we have here again today, so we are off to an excellent start with this runner.

Looks to be one of the main contenders here in this race with admirable form lines to back up its rating would look to have a top-notch chance of taking this event and would be a worthy selection.

Kingswell Theatre

Kingswell Theatre is a 8yo from the Michael Scudamore stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Kingswell Theatre did have a good result when carrying 11-08 and finishing 1st on the 05/12/2015 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

A few stats can help when making a decision about a runners chance and with Kingswell Theatre we see it is out of the sire by the name King’s Theatre who’s offspring have a passable recent strike rate of 11% when running in Stakes races.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Any Currency

Any Currency is a 14yo from the Martin Keighley stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

So what chance does Any Currency on its overall form? Well ailing would be how its form could be described with only one small glimmer of light being its race at Cheltenham which while not recent it did manage to finish 1st in that class 2 event.

The record of this runners sire is discouraging with only a 6% strike rate at this time of the year and with some below par results like these it would be an idea to concentrate on others in the race.

Could not be classed has having a great chance of taking the winners prize back to the trainers stable and other better candidate can easily be found.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Usuel Smurfer

Usuel Smurfer is a 9yo from the Alan Fleming stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at on the its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Usuel Smurfer ratings look to be unexceptional.

So moving on a bit and a quick mention about this Chase race and jockey Denis O’Regan who in these types of races over the last twelve months has not performed with finesse, only an average looking strike rate of 14% has been recorded.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Third Intention

Third Intention is a 10yo from the Colin Tizzard stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

So what chance does Third Intention on its overall form? Well ailing would be how its form could be described with only one small glimmer of light being its race at Kempton which while not recent it did manage to finish 1st in that class 2 event.

Sausalito Sunrise

Sausalito Sunrise Gelding who for this race has Richard Johnson on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Soft

Some horses are better suited to handicap races while others are not and in the case of Sausalito Sunrise it looks as if today’s Stakes race will suit, after all it got 1st place when racing in a similar race at Chepstow and that looks to be agreeable form.

Recent form for Richard Johnson when ridding runners fitted with a Cheekpieces is proficient and currently stands at a 15% strike rate which can be beneficial in this race.

With splendid form this runner is rated amongst the top contenders for the honours here at Cheltenham today and appears to be very capable of at least making the frame in this event.

Cause Of Causes

Cause Of Causes is a 9yo from the Gordon Elliott stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Below par form is what this runner looks to have and not one to have great faith, however did demonstrate a liking for a class 2 race when filling the 1st spot in a race at Cheltenham on the 17/03/2016.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Alelchi Inois

Alelchi Inois is a 9yo from the W P Mullins stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

May have what it takes for this class 2 event but may need a bit of luck considering it was unplaced recently in the same type of race.

The overall form for Alelchi Inois looks to be unproductive or insufficient for a race like this and there are plenty of other runners to choose from.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Cantlow

Cantlow is a 12yo from the E Bolger stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This is a Chase race and although it has run in these type of races in the past and even managed to be placed 1st at Taunton on the 07/01/2013 its overall form is more what you would call guideline.

So moving on a bit and a quick mention about this Chase race and jockey Mark Walsh who in these types of races over the last twelve months has not performed with finesse, only an average looking strike rate of 12% has been recorded.

Has some satisfactory but run of the mill type of form and would not be to high on many punters lists but with a bit of luck may find its way into a place.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Colour Squadron

Colour Squadron is a 11yo from the E Bolger stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Colour Squadron did have a good result when carrying 11-01 and finishing 2nd on the 13/03/2014 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

On the cards here is a Chase race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 10%.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

First Lieutenant

First Lieutenant is a 12yo who looks to have some fine form for this Stakes race and today is ridden by Mark Enright.

Some horses are better suited to handicap races while others are not and in the case of First Lieutenant it looks as if today’s Stakes race will suit, after all it got 1st place when racing in a similar race at Aintree and that looks to be agreeable form.

Stakes race which looking at the sire stats will suit First Lieutenant very well considering over the last twelve months there has been a 16% strike rate.

With splendid form this runner is rated amongst the top contenders for the honours here at Cheltenham today and appears to be very capable of at least making the frame in this event.

Bless The Wings

Bless The Wings is a 12yo from the Gordon Elliott stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 30f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

So moving on a bit and a quick mention about this Chase race and jockey Davy Russell who in these types of races over the last twelve months has not performed with finesse, only an average looking strike rate of 12% has been recorded.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Celtic Tune

Celtic Tune is a 6yo from the Jonjo O’Neill stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 23f race which taking part here at Huntingdon.

This is a class 5 race and it helps to know that a runner has form when running in these type of events and with Celtic Tune it does have some suitable outings over the last twelve months on which to make a decision. One of these races in which it put in a typical but has to be said undistinguished run was at Hereford when finishing 2nd but as I said that form would be classed as ordinary.

There is only some average recent form where jockey Killian Moore is concerned in Handicap races and with a typical strike rate this runner goes down as having a basic chance.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.
