CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE 4-10 Race Date 17/03/17 | Horse Racing

CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE FORM

Lets Get Serious

Lets Get Serious is a 11yo from the C J Miller stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Does not have one of the highest Jadwiz ratings in this race and would possible be seen as more of an each way chance based on form that was on display when running in a Stakes race on the 14/05/2015 when finishing 1st.

Could not be classed has having a great chance of taking the winners prize back to the trainers stable and other better candidate can easily be found.

Barel Of Laughs

Barel Of Laughs is a 11yo from the Philip Rowley stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Some horses can handle carrying large loads while other can’t so if we can find an excellent run where there were similar weights were involved it would be an valuable extra bonus and in this case we need to look no further than its outing at Taunton when placed 1st.

As we know or may not Cheltenham is a left handed course which means jockey stats are considered excellent and show a strike rate of 33%.

One of the main candidates in this event and appears to have what would be called a first rate chance based on the Jadwiz rating and other factors.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Mendip Express

Mendip Express is a 11yo from the Philip Hobbs stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes a runner can seem to be head and shoulders above others in a race and this would be one of them based on its outings to date, one of these that proves the point would be when it raced at Wetherby and came in 1st in a Stakes and this looked a notable event.

Mendip Express is a 11yo and runners who are out of the sire King’s Theatre are currently hitting a strike rate of 50%.

The conclusion for this runner is that it could safely be added to any short list and could very well be the top selection to land the first prize here.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Grand Vision

Grand Vision is a 11yo from the Colin Tizzard stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

With this race being a Stakes we would be looking for good recent form in this type of race and on first glance we can see that Grand Vision did finish 1st in such a race but that result may very well not count for much.

Jockey stats time again and Mr M Legg does not have a great record with 11yo runners, in fact their record shows only a substandard strike rate of 5%.

Could not be classed has having a great chance of taking the winners prize back to the trainers stable and other better candidate can easily be found.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Aupcharlie

Aupcharlie is a 11yo from the J T R Dreaper stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

The class of race we have here could possible be a problem based on its running on the 18/03/2016 when unplaced in a class 2 at Cheltenham the same as we have here today.

Today’s sire is Daliapour and most of its offspring tend to run an ordinary or passable sort of race at this time of the year and achieve a 11% strike rate.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Black Thunder

Black Thunder is a 10yo from the Warren Greatrex stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Sometimes a runner can seem to be head and shoulders above others in a race and this would be one of them based on its outings to date, one of these that proves the point would be when it raced at Fontwell and came in 1st in a Stakes and this looked a notable event.

This runner has a trainer and jockey partnership which recently has been working very well to create a top-notch strike rate of 67% which enhances this ones form.

One of the main candidates in this event and appears to have what would be called a first rate chance based on the Jadwiz rating and other factors.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Pacha Du Polder

Pacha Du Polder is a 10yo from the Paul Nicholls stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

What makes this runners form admissible is the fact it got a good result recently when racing at Bangor-On-Dee when claiming the 1st place prize. Had a similar type of weight that day which it is set to carry in this race which gives Pacha Du Polder on form a modest chance.

Think we will look at jockey stats this time for this Stakes race and in doing so we find that at 9% the strike rate for the last twelve month is not great but more average.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Paint The Clouds

Paint The Clouds is a 12yo from the Warren Greatrex stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This is a class 2 race and it helps to know that a runner has form when running in these type of events and with Paint The Clouds it does have some suitable outings over the last twelve months on which to make a decision. One of these races in which it put in a typical but has to be said undistinguished run was at Stratford when finishing 1st but as I said that form would be classed as ordinary.

This runner is a 12yo and the trainers record with horses that race at this age is not great nor is it bad but can be called middle of the road.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Pentiffic

Pentiffic is a 14yo from the P P C Turner stable who has some praiseworthy form on which to recommend for this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Has an above average rating and looks a proficient runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

The sires offspring can run well but sometimes depends on the weight carried and in this case the weight carried is to be classed as positive and over the last twelve months there has been a 20% strike rate.

An accomplished looking runner who looks capable of landing a race like this, it has the form and ratings suggest that its not to far from the top which all adds up to make this a worthy entrant.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Grand Jesture

Grand Jesture is a 9yo from the J T R Dreaper stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

The time of year can help some horses in that they can perform well some months but not so well in others and judging this one on its display in a race at Cheltenham during this month its overall form might be considered to be modest.

Mr R O Harding and Stakes races are not the most sort after combinations and the main reason is that the overall strike rate is unexceptional at 14%, which is what I would call bog standard.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Anseanachai Cliste

Anseanachai Cliste is a 9yo from the Stephen McConville stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Is set to carry a similar one as to when racing at Warwick on the 23/04/2015 when it failed to make the first three which makes this runner look inferior to most of the others.

Looks to be slightly deficient this runner with ailing form to its name and would not of thought that this one would be fighting out the finish.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Warden Hill

Warden Hill is a 9yo from the Mrs H Connors stable who has some praiseworthy form on which to recommend for this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Some horses are better suited to handicap races while others are not and in the case of Warden Hill it looks as if today’s Stakes race will suit, after all it got 1st place when racing in a similar race at Doncaster and that looks to be agreeable form.

This runner looks to have an above average chance in this event and with its superior and dexterous form Warden Hill looks to be one of the main competitors for this race.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Premier Portrait

Premier Portrait is a 10yo from the Dr Charles Levinson stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

I looked through all this ones form to find something which could make it stand out and while there was a Stakes race it took part in at Worcester on the 23/10/2013 its performance that day only appeared to be moderate or standard.

Some sires produce offspring that develop early and there for have good strikes when young, in the case of Portrait Gallery who is today’s sire we can see results that would be classed as ordinary when the runner is a 10yo.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Ask The Weatherman

Ask The Weatherman is a 8yo from the Jack R Barber stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

What makes this runners form admissible is the fact it got a good result recently when racing at Wincanton when claiming the 1st place prize. Had a similar type of weight that day which it is set to carry in this race which gives Ask The Weatherman on form a modest chance.

A 8yo runner here and with Mr W Biddick due to get the leg up its run would be expected to be moderate and this is based on the modest overall strike rate of 12% when ridding 8yo.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Sweet As A Nut

Sweet As A Nut is a 7yo from the Michael Barry stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

Twelve month stats show that when the offspring out of today’s sire race over 26f there has been a tolerable strike rate of 14%.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

On The Fringe

On The Fringe is a 12yo from the E Bolger stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

On The Fringe did have a good result when carrying 12-00 and finishing 1st on the 09/04/2015 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

Around this time of the year E Bolger the jockey tends to produce some moderate results and this can be seen from the average strike rate of 12%.

Moving onto the conclusion for this runner and with only what could be described as acceptable or tolerable form this one can just be given an average chance here for this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Balnaslow

Balnaslow is a 10yo from the Graham John McKeever stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Form looks rather substandard for this runner and to give you an example of what I mean take a look at its run on the 13/03/2014, it finished unplaced in a class 2 and a display such as that could be classed as dime-a-dozen.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose Balnaslow would be classed as having a below average chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Cottage Oak

Cottage Oak is a 14yo from the J J O’Shea stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

I looked through all this ones form to find something which could make it stand out and while there was a Stakes race it took part in at Kelso on the 13/01/2013 its performance that day only appeared to be moderate or standard.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Salsify

Salsify is a 12yo from the Rodger Sweeney stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 1st at Cheltenham on the 15/03/2013 and this could very well be a factor here.

Salsify is a 12yo and runners who are out of the sire Beneficial are currently hitting a strike rate of 33%.

Looks a first class choice to take the winners prize back to Rodger Sweeney having proved itself highly capable of taking in a race like this and would expect an admirable display.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Wonderful Charm

Wonderful Charm Gelding who for this race has Ms K Walsh on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good

We need a runner that is competent in the class of race that it is running and in this case it’s a class 2 which means that Wonderful Charm falls under the category after putting up a fine performance at Newton Abbot and while not the latest form does display its talent.

Punters like recent stats as it shows what is happing now and one of these shows that today’s trainer has a 18% strike rate when their runners have carried around today’s weight.

With some efficient and praiseworthy form to its name this would most likely be included in most short lists and who would I be to argue and I’m sure Paul Nicholls with have this one fit and ready to be battle.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Minella For Value

Minella For Value is a 11yo from the Declan Queally stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

So what chance does Minella For Value on its overall form? Well ailing would be how its form could be described with only one small glimmer of light being its race at Stratford which while not recent it did manage to finish 1st in that class 2 event.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Buckers Bridge

Buckers Bridge is a 11yo from the M F Morris stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

Trainers quite often either do well in either handicap or non-handicap races and in the case of M F Morris we see that in Stakes events their success rate is ordinary at 7%.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Current Event

Current Event is a 10yo from the Mrs Rose Loxton stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 26f race which taking part here at Cheltenham.

Does not have one of the highest Jadwiz ratings in this race and would possible be seen as more of an each way chance based on form that was on display when running in a Stakes race on the 01/02/2015 when finishing 1st.

Today’s Stakes race will suit some but not others and with the sire for this runner being Muhtathir it falls into the category of not suiting as there has only been a 4% strike.

Could not be classed has having a great chance of taking the winners prize back to the trainers stable and other better candidate can easily be found.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Wily Rumpus

Wily Rumpus is a 3yo from the Ed Walker stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

This runner would appear to be one of the top selections for this race based on a race it ran in at Leicester on the 24/10/2016 when ridden by Thomas Brown, finished 1st in that event and with the same piece of headgear on again today looks to be an added bonus.

Wily Rumpus is a 3yo and runners who are out of the sire Intense Focus are currently hitting a strike rate of 22%.

One of the main candidates in this event and appears to have what would be called a first rate chance based on the Jadwiz rating and other factors.
