DONCASTER RACECOURSE 1-50 Race Date 01/04/17 | Horse Racing

DONCASTER RACECOURSE FORM

Rene Mathis

Rene Mathis is a 7yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Wolverhampton on the 06/01/2013 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Rene Mathis ratings look to be unexceptional.

This is a 7yo and if we move over to the stats area we find that the sires offspring when running as a 7yo have a satisfactory strike rate of 8%.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Captain Colby

Captain Colby is a 5yo from the Ed Walker stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Captain Colby did have a good result when carrying 09-05 and finishing 1st on the 03/05/2014 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

So moving on a bit and a quick mention about this Flat race and jockey Thomas Brown who in these types of races over the last twelve months has not performed with finesse, only an average looking strike rate of 14% has been recorded.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Tupi

Tupi is a 5yo from the Richard Hannon stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 1st at Sandown on the 13/06/2014 and this could very well be a factor here.

On the stats side we see Ryan Moore the jockey has some exceptional recent results in Stakes races and has managed to win these races 33% of the time.

A runner out of the top draw here and one that looks to be in tiptop shape and ready to produce an exemplary display here at Doncaster.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Swift Approval

Swift Approval is a 5yo from the Stuart Williams stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Another runner who’s form does not seem to be good enough for this race and the only good news would be its finishing position in a race that took place at Newmarket when it carried 09-04 to finish 1st. This is a similar sort of weight that it is set to carry today so could possible run a nice race.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Mobsta

Mobsta Horse who for this race has Andrea Atzeni on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Soft

So how good is the overall form for Mobsta? Well praiseworthy would seem an appropriate word for this above average contender and this was shown in a race when finishing 1st at Newmarket in a 6f race which is the same as today’s distance, so form looks agreeable.

With this race taking part on a left handed course we need to know if these conditions will suit the runner and in the case of Mobsta we know the trainer is Mick Channon who has a superior strike rate of 17% when they have entered runners to race in this direction.

With some efficient and praiseworthy form to its name this would most likely be included in most short lists and who would I be to argue and I’m sure Mick Channon with have this one fit and ready to be battle.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Ride Like The Wind

Ride Like The Wind is a 5yo from the Kevin Ryan stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

We have a Stakes race here and recent form shows that Ride Like The Wind took part in a similar race at Lingfield but was unplaced. However this distinguished 5yo Gelding will be better today and I see no reason to leave out this one for the reckoning.

The breeding side of things shows that Lope De Vega is the sire and when its progeny have run recently in Stakes races there is a first rate 50% strike rate.

The conclusion for this runner is that it could safely be added to any short list and could very well be the top selection to land the first prize here.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Blue Bayou

Blue Bayou is a 4yo from the Brian Meehan stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Headgear is used in an attempt to get the most from a runner and can sometimes have desired affect as was the case when Blue Bayou ran at Haydock, finished 1st on that occasion and is not the most recent of form and looks to have far more to do here today.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose Blue Bayou would be classed as having a below average chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Scrutineer

Scrutineer is a 4yo from the Mick Channon stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Doncaster on the 24/10/2015 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Scrutineer ratings look to be unexceptional.

This is a Flat race and the sires record when its progeny have raced in these type of events over the last twelve months has been 10%.

Has some satisfactory but run of the mill type of form and would not be to high on many punters lists but with a bit of luck may find its way into a place.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Birchwood

Birchwood is from the Richard Fahey and would appear to be a talented sort and looks to have an above average chance here at Doncaster

This type of race looks as if suits Birchwood who is a 4yo and has run some splendid races on which to recommend it can be added to a short list including at Doncaster in a Flat race, not the most current form but would described as commendable.

A jockey’s ability to get on well with their mounts can be paramount and this can be traced back through the sires form for any runner. In the case of this runner we see that the sire is Dark Angel and over a period of time William Buick has managed a fine strike rate of 20% when ridding the progeny from this sire.

With splendid form this runner is rated amongst the top contenders for the honours here at Doncaster today and appears to be very capable of at least making the frame in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Pipers Note

Pipers Note is a 7yo from the Ruth Carr stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

I looked through all this ones form to find something which could make it stand out and while there was a Stakes race it took part in at Beverley on the 16/06/2015 its performance that day only appeared to be moderate or standard.

A few stats can help when making a decision about a runners chance and with Pipers Note we see it is out of the sire by the name Piccolo who’s offspring have a passable recent strike rate of 12% when running in Stakes races.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Buying Trouble

Buying Trouble is a 4yo from the David Evans stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Headgear is used in an attempt to get the most from a runner and can sometimes have desired affect as was the case when Buying Trouble ran at Kempton, finished 1st on that occasion and is not the most recent of form and looks to have far more to do here today.

Looks to be slightly deficient this runner with ailing form to its name and would not of thought that this one would be fighting out the finish.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Absolutely So

Absolutely So is a 7yo from the Andrew Balding stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Taking into account the overall form for Absolutely So it would be considered to have a middle of the road chance as there does not seem to be any real factors which stand out. This is a 6f race and ordinary or passable would be the words I would use and it can be seen as more of an each way chance.

Some horses run better when young other when older and finding a jockey who gets on with different age groups can pay dividends, however in the particular case Oisin Murphy recent success rate is only an average looking 7% for a 7yo.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Edward Elgar

Edward Elgar is a 6yo from the Caroline Bailey stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 15f race which taking part here at Uttoxeter.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 1st at Leicester on the 29/11/2015 and this could very well be a factor here.

Hurdle race for both horse and jockey to contend with here and as far as Sean Bowen is concerned there should be no problem due to their recent success rate of 29% in this type of event.

Would appear to have an outstanding chance is this race and form suggests a bet could very well be in order for this runner who looks first rate.
