DONCASTER RACECOURSE 1-45 Race Date 02/04/17 | Horse Racing

DONCASTER RACECOURSE FORM

Dubai Dynamo

Dubai Dynamo is a 12yo from the Ruth Carr stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Class of a horse can tell us what level a runner is capable of running to and if we look at the overall form of Dubai Dynamo we can see outings which are generally run of the mill. These include an outing in a class 4 race at Beverley a while back which would be described as suitable but not top draw.

So moving on a bit and a quick mention about this Flat race and jockey James Sullivan who in these types of races over the last twelve months has not performed with finesse, only an average looking strike rate of 9% has been recorded.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

King Of Naples

King Of Naples is a 4yo from the James Fanshawe stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

This runner would appear to be one of the top selections for this race based on a race it ran in at Redcar on the 28/04/2016 when ridden by George Wood, finished 1st in that event and with the same piece of headgear on again today looks to be an added bonus.

This runner is a 4yo and recent results for today’s jockey show an impressive strike rate of 25% when in charge of runners of this age.

The conclusion for this runner is that it could safely be added to any short list and could very well be the top selection to land the first prize here.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Mister Music

Mister Music is a 8yo from the Tony Carroll stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Overall form shows that Mister Music who is a 8yo has run in Flat races before and has finished well but this form looks substandard and is not the most up to date and may be best to give this one the swerve.

Now for stats and these appear to be detrimental, at least when the sires offspring have been entered into Flat races, over the last twelve months it has only record an inferior strike rate of 5%.

Looks to be slightly deficient this runner with ailing form to its name and would not of thought that this one would be fighting out the finish.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Johnny Cavagin

Johnny Cavagin is a 8yo from the Ronald Thompson stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

So what chance does Johnny Cavagin on its overall form? Well ailing would be how its form could be described with only one small glimmer of light being its race at Ripon which while not recent it did manage to finish 1st in that class 4 event.

A runners form can tell you about its ability but we also need to know how well the trainers string have been performing in the type of race that they are due to run in and with Ronald Thompson stables strike rate of only 5% over the last year for Flat events things are looking unproductive.

The expression dime-a-dozen sprung to mind when going through the form for this runner and with a low rating this runner appears inferior.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Khelman

Khelman is a 7yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 1st at Hamilton on the 04/05/2014 and this could very well be a factor here.

Trainer stats on a left handed course have recently shown a high success rate of 21% which makes this one of the top runners in this race.

Looks a first class choice to take the winners prize back to Richard Fahey having proved itself highly capable of taking in a race like this and would expect an admirable display.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Boots And Spurs

Boots And Spurs is a 8yo from the Scott Dixon stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

I looked through all this ones form to find something which could make it stand out and while there was a Handicap race it took part in at Southwell on the 10/01/2016 its performance that day only appeared to be moderate or standard.

When in Rome do as Romans do and in this case that means only back a runner in a Flat if the trainer has a good record in such event which one does not and appears to be only run of the mill.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Tiger Jim

Tiger Jim is a 7yo from the Jim Goldie stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Headgear is used in an attempt to get the most from a runner and can sometimes have desired affect as was the case when Tiger Jim ran at Ayr, finished 1st on that occasion and is not the most recent of form and looks to have far more to do here today.

Jim Goldie record in Handicap races recently can be described as ailing with a low strike rate of only 5% being recorded.

With some bush-league performances and a below par rating I don’t think this one should be on many short lists and would not think the winners prize will be going back to the Jim Goldie yard.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Finn Class

Finn Class is a 6yo from the Michael Dods stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Does not have one of the highest Jadwiz ratings in this race and would possible be seen as more of an each way chance based on form that was on display when running in a Handicap race on the 09/10/2013 when finishing 1st.

The jockey has some below average form at the moment in Handicap races which is off putting and is only hitting the target 6% of the time.

The expression dime-a-dozen sprung to mind when going through the form for this runner and with a low rating this runner appears inferior.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Dutch Art Dealer

Dutch Art Dealer Gelding who for this race has David Nolan on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Soft

Some horses are better suited to handicap races while others are not and in the case of Dutch Art Dealer it looks as if today’s Handicap race will suit, after all it got 1st place when racing in a similar race at Wolverhampton and that looks to be agreeable form.

Accomplished stats is what we have for this sire and in particular when racing in Handicap races which shows a fine recent record of 17%.

After mixing in all the form lines for this runner the conclusion would be one who would reward an each way investment provided we can get the required odds.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Free Code

Free Code is a 6yo from the David Barron stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

The use of different types of headgear can make a difference to a horses running and this would have been no doubt the case at Newcastle when Free Code put in a meritorious display when applied with No Headgear which is the same as we have here again today, so we are off to an excellent start with this runner.

Trainer stats on a left handed course have recently shown a high success rate of 22% which makes this one of the top runners in this race.

A runner out of the top draw here and one that looks to be in tiptop shape and ready to produce an exemplary display here at Doncaster.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Kalk Bay

Kalk Bay is a 10yo from the Michael Easterby stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Overall form for Kalk Bay is generally unproductive and inferior to others in this race and while it has some reasonable results over this distance namely when finishing 1st on the 03/07/2015 it would be seen as more of a each way or long shot.

This runners overall form looks to be below par for a race like this but it could possible be worth an each way provided that it had longish odds.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Zoravan

Zoravan is a 4yo from the Keith Dalgleish stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Intermediate form over the last twelve months is how things appear to be for Zoravan who is a 4yo out of the sire by the name More Than Ready, or this is how things look when taking par in Handicap races. Did put in a tolerable run at Southwell on the 19/01/2017 when ridden by Phillip Makin but the word average does spring to mind.

So moving on a bit and a quick mention about this Flat race and jockey Rowan Scott who in these types of races over the last twelve months has not performed with finesse, only an average looking strike rate of 7% has been recorded.

Has some satisfactory but run of the mill type of form and would not be to high on many punters lists but with a bit of luck may find its way into a place.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Timeless Art

Timeless Art is a 4yo from the K R Burke stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

We normally find that horses that have managed to finish 1st as this one did on the 28/10/2016 when wearing the same headgear would have sound claims but that race at Newmarket looked to be more of a run of the mill type of event.

This is a Flat race and the sires record when its progeny have raced in these type of events over the last twelve months has been 7%.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Brilliant Vanguard

Brilliant Vanguard Gelding who for this race has Shane Gray on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Soft

This is a Flat race where over the last twelve months Brilliant Vanguard has shown some valuable form and looked a skilled operator when finishing 1st in a race at Ripon on the 01/06/2016 and although this is not what would be called very recent it is still worth considering.

Course stats can help when looking for a way to narrow the field down and in this case we know that Doncaster is a left handed track which is good news where the Kevin Ryan runner is concerned as their recent strike rate on these courses is a talented 18%.

This runner looks to have an above average chance in this event and with its superior and dexterous form Brilliant Vanguard looks to be one of the main competitors for this race.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Zealous

Zealous is a 4yo from the Alan Swinbank stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Zealous did have a good result when carrying 09-04 and finishing 1st on the 16/10/2015 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

Progressing onto the trainer to gaze at how their recent form has been in Handicap races and it appears to be fair and while this may not be ideal it is satisfactory.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Eastern Racer

Eastern Racer is a 5yo from the Brian Ellison stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

We normally find that horses that have managed to finish 1st as this one did on the 14/06/2016 when wearing the same headgear would have sound claims but that race at Thirsk looked to be more of a run of the mill type of event.

Today’s jockey is Ben Curtis who it has to be said is capable in these types of races but on a left handed course their recent form is only average with a strike rate of 12%.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Royal Connoisseur

Royal Connoisseur is a 6yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some praiseworthy form on which to recommend for this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

This runner looks to have above average form and one of the reasons is its proven form when taking part in Handicap races like the one today. In finishing 1st in a race on the 15/07/2016 it proved itself to be capable of winning a race of this nature.

Accomplished stats is what we have for this sire and in particular when racing in Handicap races which shows a fine recent record of 20%.

Capable of putting in a superior run here and while this one is not at the very top it does have some praiseworthy form to its name which means it would at least be worthy candidate for a short list.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Invermere

Invermere is a 4yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

What form does Invermere have? Well the best way of looking at this runner is to take into account its last twelve months of form and by doing this we can see there was a race on the 03/06/2016 when it finished 1st. On that day it was racing over 7f the same as today but it could be said that it was only a moderate type of an event.

So moving on a bit and a quick mention about this Flat race and jockey Paul Hanagan who in these types of races over the last twelve months has not performed with finesse, only an average looking strike rate of 13% has been recorded.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Gambit

Gambit is a 4yo from the Tom Dascombe stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at Wolverhampton on the 29/03/2016 its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Gambit ratings look to be unexceptional.

We have looked at form and now move on to the recent stats for runners out of the sire when runner on a left handed course which an average strike rate in the order of 14%.

Has admissible but intermediate form and would only be of general interest if the odds are in our favour which would mean an each way bet might be on the cards.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Ballymore Castle

Ballymore Castle is a 5yo from the Richard Fahey stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

This particular runner does have some excellent overall form which while not the most recent does still give it an excellent chance, one of these nuggets of form we see is that today’s weight is not to different to the one carried when finishing 1st at Chester on the 08/05/2014 and this could very well be a factor here.

Trainer stats on a left handed course have recently shown a high success rate of 21% which makes this one of the top runners in this race.

Would appear to have an outstanding chance is this race and form suggests a bet could very well be in order for this runner who looks first rate.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Harlequin Striker

Harlequin Striker is a 5yo from the Dean Ivory stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 7f race which taking part here at Doncaster.

Headgear is used in an attempt to get the most from a runner and can sometimes have desired affect as was the case when Harlequin Striker ran at Epsom, finished 1st on that occasion and is not the most recent of form and looks to have far more to do here today.

If we note the runners weight we can see its set to carry 09-04 and recently when Dean Ivory has had runners that have shouldered around this weight the strike rate has been less than impressive at 5%.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Benefit Of Luck

Benefit Of Luck is a 5yo from the Harry Whittington stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 19f race which taking part here at Ascot.

We have a Stakes race here and an established but average looking runner in the shape of Benefit Of Luck has form in these types of races and one of these was at Southwell when finishing unplaced a while back but generally looks average.

Some horses run better when young other when older and finding a jockey who gets on with different age groups can pay dividends, however in the particular case David Bass recent success rate is only an average looking 8% for a 5yo.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.
