KEMPTON RACECOURSE 6-15 Race Date 05/04/17 | Horse Racing

KEMPTON RACECOURSE FORM

Ply

Ply is a 3yo from the Roger Charlton stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 8f race which taking part here at Kempton.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

So here we are with Ply fitted with a No Headgear and by looking at the last twelve months worth of stats for the trainer we can see regular sort of mark or agreeable but not first class.

One of the runners who looks to only have moderate or average form but is the type that could run well and therefore may be of interest if the main contenders put in a below par effort.

The Raven Master

The Raven Master is a 3yo from the Michael Bell stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 8f race which taking part here at Kempton.

Regular or acceptable form is the order of the day for The Raven Master but did not get into the first three recently at Kempton in a class 5 to make one of the runners in with a chance.

Has admissible but intermediate form and would only be of general interest if the odds are in our favour which would mean an each way bet might be on the cards.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Blue On Blue

Blue On Blue is a 3yo from the John Gosden stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

A class 5 race at Kempton and while this runners form may not be perfect when racing in class 5 events it does warrant a second look.

On the stats side we see John Gosden the trainer has some exceptional recent results in Stakes races and has managed to win these races 21% of the time.

Looks to be one of the main contenders here in this race with admirable form lines to back up its rating would look to have a top-notch chance of taking this event and would be a worthy selection.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Bowerman

Bowerman is a 3yo who looks to have some fine form for this Stakes race and today is ridden by Andrea Atzeni.

One of the things that came to light when looking through the form for this runner was today’s weight of 08-13 which is very similar to the weight carried on the 07/11/2016 when finishing 2nd and would look to have an above average chance for this event.

Today’s weight of 08-13 is to be considered a good thing based on the recent jockey stats when ridding runners with around this weight. Stats show there is a superior strike rate in the region of 20% which is worthy of making a note about.

Capable of putting in a superior run here and while this one is not at the very top it does have some praiseworthy form to its name which means it would at least be worthy candidate for a short list.

Chance To Dream

Chance To Dream is a 3yo from the John Best stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 8f race which taking part here at Kempton.

Ran in a Stakes recently but out of the placing on that occasion and I feel that there could very well be a repeat of that here again today.

We know Chance To Dream is set to carry 08-13 but over the last twelve months the trainers runners when carrying around this weight have only prevailed 6% of the time which is off putting.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose Chance To Dream would be classed as having a below average chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Delannoy

Delannoy is a 3yo from the Eve Johnson Houghton stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 8f race which taking part here at Kempton.

Checking the last twelve months of form for this 3yo Gelding I noticed that it did run in a race on the 09/09/2016 when it carried a similar weight as today’s, results on that occasion was not great but don’t let that put you off.

Looks a first class choice to take the winners prize back to Eve Johnson Houghton having proved itself highly capable of taking in a race like this and would expect an admirable display.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Bosphorus Prince

Bosphorus Prince is a 5yo from the Matthew Salaman stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 8f race which taking part here at Kempton.

With this race being a Stakes we would be looking for good recent form in this type of race and on first glance we can see that Bosphorus Prince did finish 3rd in such a race but that result may very well not count for much.

This runners overall form looks to be below par for a race like this but it could possible be worth an each way provided that it had longish odds.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Hippocampus

Hippocampus is a 3yo from the Richard Hannon stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 8f race which taking part here at Kempton.

Today’s weight for this runner is very similar to the one recently carried at Lingfield when unplaced and that form appears to be how good this runner is and not ideal selection for this race.

With some bush-league performances and a below par rating I don’t think this one should be on many short lists and would not think the winners prize will be going back to the Richard Hannon yard.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Koeman

Koeman is a 3yo from the Mick Channon stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

Looks an excellent sort who slightly veered of path when failing to finish in the first three in a Stakes race at Newbury when priced up at 12/1 , this I feel is only a minor blemish and the last twelve months form looks notable.

Combination time and both trainer and jockey appear to be getting on very well and have produced a distinguished strike rate of 29% in the last twelve months which makes this partnership look outstanding.

A runner out of the top draw here and one that looks to be in tiptop shape and ready to produce an exemplary display here at Kempton.
