AINTREE RACECOURSE 2-25 Race Date 08/04/17 | Horse Racing

AINTREE RACECOURSE FORM

Benatar

Benatar is a 5yo from the Gary Moore stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

For this runner I think its best to look at its results for the last twelve month to try and make a case for backing it. Finished 1st in a race that took place on the 08/01/2017 which was a Stakes race, but with that said the form still looks below average.

Could not be classed has having a great chance of taking the winners prize back to the trainers stable and other better candidate can easily be found.

Lough Derg Spirit

Lough Derg Spirit is a 5yo from the Nicky Henderson stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

We normally find that horses that have managed to finish 1st as this one did on the 21/11/2016 when wearing the same headgear would have sound claims but that race at Kempton looked to be more of a run of the mill type of event.

A few stats can help when making a decision about a runners chance and with Lough Derg Spirit we see it is out of the sire by the name Westerner who’s offspring have a passable recent strike rate of 13% when running in Stakes races.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Le Breuil

Le Breuil is a 5yo from the Ben Pauling stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

We normally find that horses that have managed to finish 1st as this one did on the 07/05/2016 when wearing the same headgear would have sound claims but that race at Warwick looked to be more of a run of the mill type of event.

Some horses run better when young other when older and finding a jockey who gets on with different age groups can pay dividends, however in the particular case David Bass recent success rate is only an average looking 13% for a 5yo.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

La Bague Au Roi

La Bague Au Roi is a 6yo who looks to have some fine form for this Stakes race and today is ridden by Gavin Sheehan.

Different times of the year can often bring a change of form and in the case of La Bague Au Roi it looks as if this month could be the key, after all it was on the 20/04/2015 that it finished 1st at Newton Abbot in what could be viewed as a splendid result.

One for your short list I feel and looks to have the form which would enable it to be in the shake up, there maybe others with higher ratings but this one still looks to have a chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Bordeaux Bill

Bordeaux Bill is a 6yo from the Brian Ellison stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

What form does Bordeaux Bill have? Well the best way of looking at this runner is to take into account its last twelve months of form and by doing this we can see there was a race on the 29/01/2017 when it finished 1st. On that day it was racing over 20f the same as today but it could be said that it was only a moderate type of an event.

Stats can play there part in form studying and I have looked to find some suitable results in which to sum up this ones chances. The best one appears to be when Henry Brooke is ridding a runner carrying around this sort of weight the recent strike rate is only average or run of the mill.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Cultivator

Cultivator is a 6yo from the Nicky Henderson stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

Another runner who’s form does not seem to be good enough for this race and the only good news would be its finishing position in a race that took place at Ascot when it carried 10-12 to finish 1st. This is a similar sort of weight that it is set to carry today so could possible run a nice race.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose Cultivator would be classed as having a below average chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Finian’s Oscar

Finian’s Oscar is a 5yo from the Colin Tizzard stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

To win a race everything needs to drop right or at least have something that on which a runner could be recommended and in the case of Finian’s Oscar the one thing it does have in its favour is the weight. When it raced at Hereford on the 19/12/2016 it carried 10-12 to fill the 1st spot which was a similar weight as today and looks adequate.

There is only some average recent form where jockey Robbie Power is concerned in Stakes races and with a typical strike rate this runner goes down as having a basic chance.

Has admissible but intermediate form and would only be of general interest if the odds are in our favour which would mean an each way bet might be on the cards.

Captain Forez

Captain Forez is a 5yo from the Dan Skelton stable who has some praiseworthy form on which to recommend for this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

One of the things that came to light when looking through the form for this runner was today’s weight of 11-04 which is very similar to the weight carried on the 16/12/2016 when finishing 2nd and would look to have an above average chance for this event.

Accomplished stats is what we have for this sire and in particular when racing in Stakes races which shows a fine recent record of 17%.

An accomplished looking runner who looks capable of landing a race like this, it has the form and ratings suggest that its not to far from the top which all adds up to make this a worthy entrant.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Messire Des Obeaux

Messire Des Obeaux is a 5yo from the Alan King stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

Some horses can handle carrying large loads while other can’t so if we can find an excellent run where there were similar weights were involved it would be an valuable extra bonus and in this case we need to look no further than its outing at Sandown when placed 1st.

This looks a nice Hurdle race and one in which Saddler Maker, who is the sire has some exquisite recent stats. These stats show a first class strike rate of 25% when its offspring have run in Hurdle races.

Looks to be one of the main contenders here in this race with admirable form lines to back up its rating would look to have a top-notch chance of taking this event and would be a worthy selection.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Reivers Lad

Reivers Lad is a 6yo from the Nicky Richards stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

Good recent form is what we are after in a race like this but with Reivers Lad this does not look to be the case, in fact its form looks rather discouraging, only spark of light would be that it did fill the 1st spot when wearing the same piece of headgear.

Over the last twelve months things have not been great for Brian Harding when ridding races over a distance of 20f their strike rate has been below par at 5% and looks discouraging.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Chelsea Flyer

Chelsea Flyer is a 6yo from the Emma Lavelle stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

Has form in Stakes races which while not first rate they could be described as satisfactory which suggests that maybe a place is the most likely results for Chelsea Flyer.

A few stats can help when making a decision about a runners chance and with Chelsea Flyer we see it is out of the sire by the name Westerner who’s offspring have a passable recent strike rate of 13% when running in Stakes races.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Bel Ami De Sivola

Bel Ami De Sivola is a 6yo from the Noel Meade stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 20f race which taking part here at Aintree.

Has an below average rating and looks a unproductive runner with no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

This is a Stakes in which Bel Ami De Sivola with the help of B J Cooper will attempt to take first prize, however with the jockey only having an inferior 6% strike rate over the last twelve months this does not look like it will happen, not today in any case.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Sparkalot

Sparkalot is a 3yo from the Simon Dow stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Lingfield.

We have a Stakes race here for Sparkalot and if we only take recent form into consideration, namely at race at Kempton when finishing out of the first three in a similar race it can be said to only have a moderate chance.

Think we will look at jockey stats this time for this Stakes race and in doing so we find that at 8% the strike rate for the last twelve month is not great but more average.

Moving onto the conclusion for this runner and with only what could be described as acceptable or tolerable form this one can just be given an average chance here for this event.
