CHEPSTOW RACECOURSE 1-40 Race Date 08/04/17 | Horse Racing

CHEPSTOW RACECOURSE FORM

Top Ville Ben

Top Ville Ben is a 5yo from the Nicky Henderson stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

Exemplary Stakes form is what I feel this one can offer which will compliment a race of this nature and also enhance its chance of taking the winners prize back to Nicky Henderson training yard. While its race at Ludlow on the 21/12/2016 is not the most recent it does prove it can be taken seriously.

Jeremiah McGrath is ridding a runner out of the Nicky Henderson stable and this can be considered a positive in this race as the partnership has had a 23% success rate over the past year.

A runner out of the top draw here and one that looks to be in tiptop shape and ready to produce an exemplary display here at Chepstow.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Rodeo Dodo

Rodeo Dodo is a 7yo from the Dan Skelton stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

Has an excellent rating and looks a distinguished runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

Recently David England who is the chosen jockey has had a fair amount of luck when ridding runners fitted with a No Headgear which currently stands at a outstanding strike rate of 100%.

With some notable form to its name Rodeo Dodo looks to be the one to be on for this 16f event and I can see no reason as to why this would not have a excellent chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Bolving

Bolving is a 6yo from the Victor Dartnall stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

Taking into account the overall form for Bolving it would be considered to have a middle of the road chance as there does not seem to be any real factors which stand out. This is a 16f race and ordinary or passable would be the words I would use and it can be seen as more of an each way chance.

A few stats can help when making a decision about a runners chance and with Bolving we see it is out of the sire by the name Stowaway who’s offspring have a passable recent strike rate of 12% when running in Stakes races.

With some middle of the road performances and generally indifferent form this ones chances are modest and there are a number of entrants which look better suited.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Merchant In Milan

Merchant In Milan is a 5yo from the Helen Nelmes stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

May have what it takes for this class 4 event but may need a bit of luck considering it was unplaced recently in the same type of race.

The expression dime-a-dozen sprung to mind when going through the form for this runner and with a low rating this runner appears inferior.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Below Average

Enmeshing

Enmeshing is a 4yo from the Alexandra Dunn stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

For this runner I think its best to look at its results for the last twelve month to try and make a case for backing it. Finished 1st in a race that took place on the 21/01/2017 which was a Stakes race, but with that said the form still looks below average.

So the course direction for Chepstow is left handed and over the last twelve months the sire stats for this type of track is below average with only a 6% strike rate.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Resolution Bay

Resolution Bay is from the Philip Hobbs and would appear to be a talented sort and looks to have an above average chance here at Chepstow

This runner looks to have above average form and one of the reasons is its proven form when taking part in Stakes races like the one today. In finishing 1st in a race on the 01/11/2016 it proved itself to be capable of winning a race of this nature.

Looking at the trainers recent form over today’s race distance of 16f we see a superior success rate of 15% so appears to be a worthy contender.

With splendid form this runner is rated amongst the top contenders for the honours here at Chepstow today and appears to be very capable of at least making the frame in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Innisfree Lad

Innisfree Lad is a 5yo from the David Dennis stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

Over the last twelve months I can see some excellent form on which to recommend this runner especially over today’s distance of 16f, one of these races in which this Gelding put in a sterling effort was at Ayr on the 05/12/2016 and finished 3rd on that occasion which looked to be notable.

An interesting stats for this runners sire is the fact that recent results show that when the runner has been trained by David Dennis there is a 25% exceptional strike rate.

The conclusion for this runner is that it could safely be added to any short list and could very well be the top selection to land the first prize here.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Hoola Hula

Hoola Hula is a 4yo from the Sue Gardner stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

For this runner I think its best to look at its results for the last twelve month to try and make a case for backing it. Finished 3rd in a race that took place on the 14/12/2016 which was a Stakes race, but with that said the form still looks below average.

Could not be classed has having a great chance of taking the winners prize back to the trainers stable and other better candidate can easily be found.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Below Average

Oliver’s Island

Oliver’s Island is a 5yo from the Jamie Snowden stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

Has only what would only be classed as passable form for this race and with a below standard outing recently at Towcester which was over 16f this can be marked down as a runner with average chance on form.

The recent stats for Jamie Snowden tells us that the results are average or undistinguished if you like when their runners have tried to win Hurdle events.

Has admissible but intermediate form and would only be of general interest if the odds are in our favour which would mean an each way bet might be on the cards.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Unsafe Conduct

Unsafe Conduct is a 4yo from the Colin Tizzard stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

So we have a Stakes event and a runner with some below par form and one of those below average performances came at Cheltenham in a 1 Stakes race when it was unplaced.

Jockeys does well in some type of events and not so good in others, this is a Hurdle race therefore falls into the not so good category. Over the last twelve months Paul O’Brien has what is seen as a unproductive strike rate of only 4% which is below average.

Does not look to be one of the fancied runners on the form which has come to light and for all intense and purpose Unsafe Conduct would be classed as having a below average chance.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Timely Gift

Timely Gift is a 4yo from the Tim Vaughan stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

Has only what would only be classed as passable form for this race and with a below standard outing recently at Stratford which was over 16f this can be marked down as a runner with average chance on form.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Above Average

Looksabitlikebrian

Looksabitlikebrian Gelding who for this race has Alain Cawley on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good

A slight concern was cast over this runners ability recently when racing in a class 4 event at Uttoxeter when it finished out of the first three. That class of race is the same as today’s so you will need to keep that in mind, other than that Jadwiz form ratings would seem to suggest a runner with a fine chance.

An above average runner with some splendid sire stats over today’s race distance to enhance its standing, overall Brian Boru who is the sire has produced runners who have shown show a number of praiseworthy winners and stats show a 16% strike rate.

With splendid form this runner is rated amongst the top contenders for the honours here at Chepstow today and appears to be very capable of at least making the frame in this event.

Moderator

Moderator is a 7yo from the Arthur Whitehead stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

Has admissible but intermediate form and would only be of general interest if the odds are in our favour which would mean an each way bet might be on the cards.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Dance In The Dust

Dance In The Dust is a 6yo from the Jonjo O’Neill stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 16f race which taking part here at Chepstow.

Race class can be looked at when studying form to see how well or badly a runner has performed over the last year and in the case of Dance In The Dust these harmful displays include finishing unplaced at Uttoxeter in a class 4 event.

Jockeys does well in some type of events and not so good in others, this is a Hurdle race therefore falls into the not so good category. Over the last twelve months Killian Moore has what is seen as a unproductive strike rate of only 5% which is below average.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Doesyourdogbite

Doesyourdogbite is a 5yo from the Jonjo O’Neill stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 24f race which taking part here at Aintree.

Another runner who’s form does not seem to be good enough for this race and the only good news would be its finishing position in a race that took place at Market Rasen when it carried 10-12 to finish 1st. This is a similar sort of weight that it is set to carry today so could possible run a nice race.

Jockeys does well in some type of events and not so good in others, this is a Hurdle race therefore falls into the not so good category. Over the last twelve months Richie McLernon has what is seen as a unproductive strike rate of only 5% which is below average.

With some bush-league performances and a below par rating I don’t think this one should be on many short lists and would not think the winners prize will be going back to the Jonjo O’Neill yard.
