CARLISLE RACECOURSE 1-45 Race Date 15/04/17 | Horse Racing

CARLISLE RACECOURSE FORM

Njorls Saga

Njorls Saga is a 6yo from the Nigel Hawke stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

We have a Stakes race here for Njorls Saga and if we only take recent form into consideration, namely at race at Chepstow when finishing out of the first three in a similar race it can be said to only have a moderate chance.

Fitting of headgear is normally done to help the runner try and get the job done but if the jockey such as Ciaran Gethings has only a recent strike rate of 13% when ridding horses wearing a type of head covering it does not inspire confidence, after all its only a standard sort of success rate.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Bonchester

Bonchester is a 6yo from the George Charlton stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

Today’s weight for this runner is very similar to the one recently carried at Ayr when unplaced and that form appears to be how good this runner is and not ideal selection for this race.

The results for Hurdle races show a below average 5% strike rate when the sires offspring have precipitated in these type of events.

The expression dime-a-dozen sprung to mind when going through the form for this runner and with a low rating this runner appears inferior.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Angel’s Envy

Angel’s Envy is a 5yo from the Iain Jardine stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

So we have a Stakes event and a runner with some below par form and one of those below average performances came at Sedgefield in a 6 Stakes race when it was unplaced.

This is a Stakes in which Angel’s Envy with the help of Adam Nicol will attempt to take first prize, however with the jockey only having an inferior 4% strike rate over the last twelve months this does not look like it will happen, not today in any case.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Dolly’s Dot

Dolly’s Dot is a 6yo from the Victor Thompson stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

May have what it takes for this class 4 event but may need a bit of luck considering it was unplaced recently in the same type of race.

No Headgear for Dolly’s Dot today and as far as the overall stats for the trainer when fitting this piece of headgear is concerned it does not look to good with only a 6% strike rate.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Barton Knoll

Barton Knoll is a 5yo from the John Mackie stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

We have a Stakes race here and an established but average looking runner in the shape of Barton Knoll has form in these types of races and one of these was at Bangor-On-Dee when finishing unplaced a while back but generally looks average.

So here we are with Barton Knoll ready to take part in a Stakes race which may not be the best choice due to the fact that over the last year its current trainer has only hit the winners enclosure 8% of the time which is only a moderate success rate.

Moving onto the conclusion for this runner and with only what could be described as acceptable or tolerable form this one can just be given an average chance here for this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Strike Fear

Strike Fear is a 5yo from the Rebecca Menzies stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

Looks an excellent sort who slightly veered of path when failing to finish in the first three in a Stakes race at Musselburgh when priced up at 10/1 , this I feel is only a minor blemish and the last twelve months form looks notable.

Strike Fear is a 5yo and runners who are out of the sire Scorpion are currently hitting a strike rate of 24%.

With some tiptop form this notable runner form the Rebecca Menzies stable would be high on anyone’s list and appears to be one of the main contenders in this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Above Average

Officer Hoolihan

Officer Hoolihan is a 7yo from the Tim Vaughan stable who looks to have an excellent chance on form and ratings.

This should be one of the leading horses in this race and has some excellent to speak of over the last twelve month including when putting in meritorious display when taking part in an event at Carlisle when this Gelding with the assistance of Shane Shortall got itself to finish 1st, that was a Hurdle race and another excellent run would be expected here today.

Today’s jockey is Alan Johns who is current enjoying an excellent 33% strike rate when ridding runners out of the sire Kayf Tara as this one is.

The conclusion for this runner is that it could safely be added to any short list and could very well be the top selection to land the first prize here.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Jadwiz Note: We now know that this is a notable and distinguished looking runner in this race with exceptional form and stats which makes this one of the pinnacle bets of the day.

Your Preference

Your Preference is a 8yo from the Lisa Harrison stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

Sometimes headgear can make a difference but if we judge things on its outing at on the its form on that occasion would be described as fair, ok may not be the most recent form but Your Preference ratings look to be unexceptional.

So stats time and these are for today’s sire who is Dolpour and the over results are average for today’s type of race, another words, run of the mill.

Does not have the best form in the race and only looks ordinary but there may be a chance of this one getting itself into a place, whether the bookmakers price this one up to allow an each way is a different matter.

Recent Form – Trainer Above Average – Jockey Average

Glittering Love

Glittering Love is a 5yo from the Nicky Richards stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

Will start be letting you know this is a Hurdle race and Glittering Love does have recent form in these type of event, not great and overall form would only be average.

Looking at the race type and here we see it’s a Hurdle and with only average or suitable recent stats for today’s jockey in this type of event it appears to have moderate claims here.

Moving onto the conclusion for this runner and with only what could be described as acceptable or tolerable form this one can just be given an average chance here for this event.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Average

Arctic Vodka

Arctic Vodka is a 5yo from the Sharon Watt stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 19f race which taking part here at Carlisle.

So we have a Stakes event and a runner with some below par form and one of those below average performances came at Carlisle in a 6 Stakes race when it was unplaced.

No Headgear for Arctic Vodka today and as far as the overall stats for the trainer when fitting this piece of headgear is concerned it does not look to good with only a 6% strike rate.

The overall form for Arctic Vodka looks to be unproductive or insufficient for a race like this and there are plenty of other runners to choose from.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Average

Skipthescales

Skipthescales Gelding who for this race has Henry Brooke on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good

So we know that this is a Stakes race so having a runner such as Skipthescales on our side could be what we are looking for, after all it was this type of race where it finished 2nd recently at Carlisle, so looks a runner who is capable.

With some efficient and praiseworthy form to its name this would most likely be included in most short lists and who would I be to argue and I’m sure Martin Todhunter with have this one fit and ready to be battle.

Recent Form – Trainer Average – Jockey Above Average

Mishaal

Mishaal is a 7yo from the Michael Herrington stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 7f race which taking part here at Musselburgh.

Mishaal did have a good result when carrying 09-03 and finishing 1st on the 27/11/2014 but that is not the most recent of form but you could say its acceptable.

Stats can play there part in form studying and I have looked to find some suitable results in which to sum up this ones chances. The best one appears to be when Barry McHugh is ridding a runner carrying around this sort of weight the recent strike rate is only average or run of the mill.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.
