CATTERICK RACECOURSE 2-35 Race Date 11/05/17 | Horse Racing

CATTERICK RACECOURSE FORM

Chauvelin

Chauvelin is a 6yo from the Nigel Tinkler stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 12f race which taking part here at Catterick.

So lets have a look at what Chauvelin has achieved in the last twelve months and one of the better ones was in a Flat race at Beverley when achieving a satisfactory 1st place. Connor Beasley rode a fair and passable race for Richard Guest on that occasion and one would expect another up to scratch type of performance.

Stats can play there part in form studying and I have looked to find some suitable results in which to sum up this ones chances. The best one appears to be when Andrew Mullen is ridding a runner carrying around this sort of weight the recent strike rate is only average or run of the mill.

Has some satisfactory but run of the mill type of form and would not be to high on many punters lists but with a bit of luck may find its way into a place.

Moccasin

Moccasin is a 8yo from the Geoffrey Harker stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 12f race which taking part here at Catterick.

With ailing form and a below average Jadwiz rating is there anything on which to recommended a bet is in order for Moccasin. Maybe today’s weight may help after all it did run a nice race when finishing 1st on the 26/04/2015 but that performance gives the impression of being inferior to what is required.

With some discouraging results and below par performances this runner would be seen by most as having a less than average chance of taking the first prize here in this event.

San Quentin

San Quentin Gelding who for this race has Josh Doyle on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Firm

This is a Flat race where over the last twelve months San Quentin has shown some valuable form and looked a skilled operator when finishing 1st in a race at Hamilton on the 25/05/2016 and although this is not what would be called very recent it is still worth considering.

Capable of putting in a superior run here and while this one is not at the very top it does have some praiseworthy form to its name which means it would at least be worthy candidate for a short list.

Retrieve

Retrieve is a 10yo from the Jamie Osborne stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 12f race which taking part here at Catterick.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

Some types of events a trainer can have good stats to back up a runners form but in this case of Jamie Osborne Flat races have not really produced the goods over the last year.

An average looking runner with adequate but unremarkable form for a race like this and there are others that are preferred and it could be an idea to look at some of the other contenders.

Vercingetorix

Vercingetorix is a 6yo from the Harriet Bethell stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 12f race which taking part here at Catterick.

Some horses can handle carrying large loads while other can’t so if we can find an excellent run where there were similar weights were involved it would be an valuable extra bonus and in this case we need to look no further than its outing at Chepstow when placed 1st.

Looking through the recent stats for the sire one thing which stands out are the results for a left handed course which are excellent and show a 50% strike rate.

Would appear to have an outstanding chance is this race and form suggests a bet could very well be in order for this runner who looks first rate.

No No Cardinal

No No Cardinal is a 8yo from the Mark Gillard stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 16f race which taking part here at Worcester.

Has an below average rating and looks a unproductive runner with no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

Some trainers make extensive use of headgear and in the case of Mark Gillard they have chosen to fit No No Cardinal with a Cheekpieces which considering the stats for the last twelve months show a low strike rate for their runners fitted with this head covering seems a bit odd.

With some bush-league performances and a below par rating I don’t think this one should be on many short lists and would not think the winners prize will be going back to the Mark Gillard yard.
