RIPON RACECOURSE 2-15 Race Date 07/08/17 | Horse Racing

RIPON RACECOURSE FORM

Elation

Elation is a 2yo from the Roger Varian stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

There was recently a below average performance over today’s distance when racing at Newbury when Silvestre De Sousa could not get a good enough run to get Elation into the frame and up to date form looks insufficient.

With jockey Silvestre De Sousa onboard for this race we can see it may not be a wise selection considering that over the last twelve when ridding the offspring for this sire they have only seen a 6% strike rate.

The overall form for Elation looks to be unproductive or insufficient for a race like this and there are plenty of other runners to choose from.

Hippeia

Hippeia Filly who for this race has Connor Beasley on board which looks like helping here on ground which is marked down as Good To Soft

So we have a runner with some superior form running in a Flat race which is much the same as what happened at Doncaster recently, only problem was it failed to get placed. There may be a good reason for this and if so then Hippeia would appear to be capable of winning here.

With splendid form this runner is rated amongst the top contenders for the honours here at Ripon today and appears to be very capable of at least making the frame in this event.

Salire

Salire is a 2yo from the Ann Duffield stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

Has an average rating and looks a moderate runner but no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

When in Rome do as Romans do and in this case that means only back a runner in a Flat if the trainer has a good record in such event which one does not and appears to be only run of the mill.

Has admissible but intermediate form and would only be of general interest if the odds are in our favour which would mean an each way bet might be on the cards.

Clubbable

Clubbable is a 2yo from the Richard Fahey stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

Class counts the saying goes but in the case of its recent outing at Hamilton when racing in the same class of race as today’s the result only looked to be bog standard and on form it looks a place maybe the best result.

On the cards here is a Flat race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 12%.

This runner only looks to have middling form and would not really be seen as one of the leading lights but more middle of the road for this event, however could possible reward an each way type of bet.

Perfect Thought

Perfect Thought is a 2yo from the William Haggas stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

Recent form is an asset but only if its good and a first glance at a race that took place on the 30/06/2017 it does not appear that way, after all it was unplaced when racing over 6f at Newmarket but even the best have runs which are not up to scratch and I would expect a first class display.

So on to the race type which is a Flat and if the trainer has a good recent record in these types of races it would mean we have a nice selection. The stats show that William Haggas has been recently hitting at strike rate of 26% in these type of events so looks as if we have found an excellent runner with both good form and stats.

With some tiptop form this notable runner form the William Haggas stable would be high on anyone’s list and appears to be one of the main contenders in this event.

Claramara

Claramara is a 2yo from the Mark Johnston stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

Has only what would only be classed as passable form for this race and with a below standard outing recently at Chepstow which was over 6f this can be marked down as a runner with average chance on form.

On the cards here is a Flat race and recent results show that the sire for this runner has produced offspring that have gained some middle of the road results, at the moment the strike rate is 13%.

Form for this runner looks up to scratch but with better candidates in this race its overall chance could only be classed as admissible.

Foxy Lady

Foxy Lady is a 2yo from the Kevin Ryan stable who has some average form which means that it good enough to fill one of the places in this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

First thing I noticed when looking at its recent form was a race at Beverley when it worn the same piece of headgear, on that occasion it did show enough to suggest it can be winning here.

Some horses run better when young other when older and finding a jockey who gets on with different age groups can pay dividends, however in the particular case Tom Eaves recent success rate is only an average looking 9% for a 2yo.

This runner could very well have what is known as bog standard form and winners tend to be a shade better thought of than that but its by no means totally out of it but would appear to need a bit of luck to win here today.

Lady Anjorica

Lady Anjorica is a 2yo from the Keith Dalgleish stable who has some excellent form on which to recommend a bet for this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

This should be one of the leading horses in this race and has some excellent to speak of over the last twelve month including when putting in meritorious display when taking part in an event at Catterick when this Filly with the assistance of Tony Hamilton got itself to finish 2nd, that was a Flat race and another excellent run would be expected here today.

Trainers use different methods to get their runners fit and well enough to race and today’s way of doing things seem to be well suited to the offspring of Camacho who is this runners sire. Over the last twelve months the results have been excellent and show an impressive 29% strike rate.

With some notable form to its name Lady Anjorica looks to be the one to be on for this 6f event and I can see no reason as to why this would not have a excellent chance.

Alaskan Beauty

Alaskan Beauty is a 2yo from the Tim Easterby stable who has some praiseworthy form on which to recommend for this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

Finding the right weight range for a horse could be the key in this race and Alaskan Beauty looks to be in the zone having put in a praiseworthy display recently at Ripon when it carried 08-11 to finish a worthy 3rd.

There are lots of ways in which we look to enhance a runners form and sometimes easier than others and in the case of Alaskan Beauty its trained by Tim Easterby who recently have been enjoying a very good strike rate of 15% when their runners have competed in Flat race events.

After mixing in all the form lines for this runner the conclusion would be one who would reward an each way investment provided we can get the required odds.

Sulafaat

Sulafaat is a 2yo from the Mark Johnston stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Ripon.

A recent good run in a Flat race could help make our minds up about a runner but the problem we have here is while it did have a run on the 06/06/2017 in a Flat event it failed to make the frame.

With some bush-league performances and a below par rating I don’t think this one should be on many short lists and would not think the winners prize will be going back to the Mark Johnston yard.

Recent Form – Trainer Below Average – Jockey Below Average

Masters Apprentice

Masters Apprentice is a 2yo from the Sylvester Kirk stable who has some unproductive form and does not look to be up to this 6f race which taking part here at Salisbury.

Has an below average rating and looks a unproductive runner with no real form which can be used in conjunction with this race and so we will move on to the stats to see what we can discover.

General form for this runner is detrimental and it’s the same story when looking at the results for the offspring for the sire, this lets us know that there has only been a 4% strike rate for runners when racing as a 2yo.

A runner who for this race appears to have to much detrimental form to its name and I feel it may be wise to pass this one over.
